How to prevent a windshield cracks extend

If the windshield of your car is cracked, only you have two choices. You can pay to change all your windshield or repair cracks. Instructions

  1. Examine the cracks to determine whether it can be repaired or if the entire windshield must be changed. If the cracks are older than 30 days, wider than 1/8 inch (0.31 cm) or longer than 12 inches (30 cm), change the entire windshield.

  4. Call your insurance company to see if the repair is covered under your insurance policy. Some insurance policies pay for the repair or replacement of the windscreen. Other companies do not cover any, and you must pay the deductible or pay out of pocket for all repairs.

  • If you notice a crack in your windshield, take it to a glass as soon as possible. Often the cracks cannot be fixed without are greater than 30 days.
  • Do not wash your car or stations under direct sunlight if you notice a crack. Both cause the crack to expand, making it impossible to repair.
